Students at 35 Des Moines schools and three learning centers can now eat breakfast and lunch at no cost because of a special U.S. Dept. of Agriculture program targeting high poverty schools throughout the U.S. The move will ensure students are focused on learning and not on hunger. Now is the time to register your Weeks student for the upcoming school year!  Starting August 7th from 9am-6pm & August 8th from 9am-1pm bring proof of address and a form of ID to the library.

A special grant is allowing students at eight DMPS middle schools to learn the basics of business, and support their community. When Weeks Middle School students decided on a lemonade stand, they had no idea how hard it would be! Luckily, they don’t give up easily. Click on the image to read more.
