Biography

Hi! My name is Becky Beneke and I am the Math Leader here at Weeks. I love being able to work with students in small groups and help them reach the ‘ah ha’ moment in their learning. I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee (New Berlin) where I attended St. Mary’s Elm Grove for K-8 and Waukesha Catholic Memorial for high school. I moved to Marquette Michigan in the Upper Peninsula where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education: Science and Math at Northern Michigan University. In the spring of 2013 I completed my Masters in curriculum and leadership from Nova Southeastern University of Florida. I started my career at Marquette Middle School in Marquette Michigan. I then moved back to Wisconsin where I taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade science, health, art, and accelerated math at Our Lady Queen of Peace. I moved to Iowa in 2007. I was a long-term sub for a year at East High and Weeks. I then taught at Hoyt for a year before returning to Weeks. I have been back at Weeks since 2009.My favorite activity outside of work is being able to go home to my wonderful kids!
