Whirlygigs were flying at Weeks! Students thought like engineers to design a helicopter-style whirlygig that would fall to the ground the slowest. The challenge had students thinking and trying new strategies to solve the problem.

The end of the school day is set aside for Advisory and Success Time. During this time, student work on growing their academic and interpersonal skills. Ms. Finken’s advisory was working in teams to problem solve with found materials. The students led the activity and learned valuable lessons in cooperation and communication.

Weeks Middle School started the school year off right by soaking up the beautiful weather and enjoying great company during our school-wide picnic. Staff and students ate lunch with one another on our shady front lawn. A great way to begin the new school year!
