Parents Meeting on New Grading System

Annual Trip to Washington, D.C.

Weeks 8th Grade students have an opportunity to visit our nation’s capital. This Spring Break trip brings together 8th graders across the district to explore and learn about our nation’s history and to see civic action up close.

Weeks Kicks Off Peer Mentoring Program

To start the new school year, Weeks Middle School kicked off a new peer mentoring program. Called WEB – or Where Everybody Belongs – the program teams up 50 specially-trained 8th graders with small groups of new 6th graders to help them through the transition to middle school. School Supply Lists

Iowa Requires Vaccine Booster for 7th Graders

Iowa law now requires that all students entering 7th grade receive a one-time booster of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine. Minorities on the Move

Weeks is hosting an exciting 2-week summer program, “Minorities on the Move: A Look into Social Roles, Interpretations and Expectations.” The goal of this class is to reach out to minority students, opening their eyes to the prison epidemic, taking them on a literal ride through Iowa’s history using the viewpoints of African Americans and Latinos.
