Sharing Healthy Choices

Weeks’  Wellness Committee served up delicious smoothies during lunch on Friday.  The Wellness Committee partnered with Hy-Vee dietitians to put together a healthy and delicious snack for students.

Orange Berry Swirl Super Smoothie (serves 4)

Ingredients:

1 package (16 oz) fresh or frozen strawberries

1 container (6 oz) vanilla or low-fat yogurt

1 cup orange juice

1 cup fat-free milk or almond milk

4 Tbsp flax seed

Directions:

1) Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides.

2) Serve immediately.
