Iowa Requires Vaccine Booster for 7th Graders

Iowa law now requires that all students entering 7th grade receive a one-time booster of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine. Minorities on the Move

Weeks is hosting an exciting 2-week summer program, “Minorities on the Move: A Look into Social Roles, Interpretations and Expectations.” The goal of this class is to reach out to minority students, opening their eyes to the prison epidemic, taking them on a literal ride through Iowa’s history using the viewpoints of African Americans and Latinos.

Reading Fair

Students in Mrs. Hoyt’s classroom organized and developed a summer reading book fair for 6th grade students. Each student created a detailed project highlighting the elements of fiction through the novel of their choosing. Weeks Canstruction Victory!

Weeks’ Gifted and Talented students organized a school-wide canned food drive for the Food Bank of Iowa. With the donated goods the students constructed a display to bring attention to the issue of hunger.
